description

The Mercedes-Benz tradition of offering cabriolets and coupés as part of the model range stretches a long way back into the company's history. One can't forget the 300 SL and 190 SL of the 1950s, nor the superb " Pagoda " versions of the 1960s. Since those days, several generations of coupés and cabriolets have carried on this talent for combining luxury, comfort and touring. The first generation Mercedes CLK was presented in 1996 as a cabriolet which was unanimously held in high regard by the motoring press at the time. The following year, a second version appeared : the two-door, four-seater Coupé. The design team at Heuliez, offering a wealth of experience in retractable roofs, proposed combining both body styles into one, as the Mercedes CLK Rétractop 10, which was presented by Heuliez in 2002. The technology used allowed the roof to maintain its shape and thus keep the overall appearance of the car the same, through use of a roll bar which positioned itself automatically when the roof was lowered. It also had four true seats, and a larger boot space than on the original. The car was built on the base of a 1998 model CLK coupé. It is presented in excellent condition, finished to " Sport " specification, with a black leather and suede interior, and aluminium alloy wheels. It boasts a 4-cylinder engine and five-speed gearbox. This superb automobile can't fail to attract enthusiasts of exceptional German cabriolets. Rare chance to add a unique MB protoype to your collection...
